Roadmap
OhioMade grows from real operational pressure. This roadmap tracks the platform layers being built across Identity, business access, billing, entitlements, AI, workforce, payroll, infrastructure, community systems, communication, compliance, and real business tools.
Current platform phase: Operational Platform Infrastructure + AI Expansion. OhioMade is no longer just separate apps. It is becoming a unified business operating environment.
Core platform roadmap
Identity & business access
Continue strengthening Identity v2 as the shared access layer for people, businesses, memberships, realms, scopes, sessions, and delegated authority. Businesses authorize relationships; OhioMade owns the identity layer.
Realm orchestration
Expand the shared app switcher and cross-realm navigation so users can move between Payroll, PaperTrail, Workforce, VPN, Billing, Community, Webmail, Reports, AI, and other realms while preserving identity and business context.
Shared UI system
Continue standardizing shared OhioMade UI, forms, buttons, modals, cards, icons, iOS hardening, shell layouts, topbars, footers, and mobile-first workflows across all public and private apps.
Shared mail infrastructure
Expand the shared mail helper so contact forms, onboarding, approvals, invites, billing notices, support messages, and system alerts use one branded transactional email layer through Postfix and Amazon SES.
Audit layer
Standardize audit logging across approvals, payroll, workforce, VPN devices, billing changes, admin actions, AI-assisted workflows, document review, and infrastructure operations.
Self-serve onboarding
Allow demo businesses and real businesses to start faster: sign in through Identity, claim or create a business, activate realms, invite users, test tools, and understand OhioMade without manual setup.
Operational AI roadmap
Business-aware AI
Expand AI so answers always respect the active business context. The assistant should know which business the user is acting under before answering operational questions.
Realm-aware AI
Continue building assistant behavior that changes by realm: Payroll AI, Workforce AI, PaperTrail AI, Billing AI, Reports AI, VPN AI, Community AI, and system-level platform help.
Resolver-first answers
Build more trusted resolvers so AI answers come from real platform data instead of generic guesses. Workforce, Payroll, PaperTrail, Billing, VPN, ScanFlow, Reports, and Community should each expose safe operational answers.
Platform knowledge layer
Give AI a structured source of truth for OhioMade itself: realms, pricing, onboarding, security, products, support, billing, identity rules, and operational workflows.
AI onboarding assistant
Let new users ask what OhioMade is, how realms connect, what their business has active, what is missing, and what next step they should take inside the current app.
Action-safe AI
Keep sensitive actions protected by scopes, CSRF, POST requests, confirmations, and audit logs. AI can explain and guide, but it should not bypass authorization.
Billing, VPN & entitlements
VPN billing & entitlements
VPN is the first live infrastructure service proving the commercial model: Stripe-ready checkout direction, subscription state, device limits, personal VPN scope, business VPN scope, and auditable device actions.
Shared billing engine
Build a reusable billing and entitlement foundation that can power VPN, Webmail, Display, HostGen, Workforce, Payroll, Portal, Community, and other person-owned or business-owned services.
Subscription lifecycle
Continue adding subscription creation, renewal, cancellation, failed-payment handling, grace periods, entitlement updates, invoice status, and service access enforcement.
Person-owned services
Expand services that can belong directly to a person instead of only to a business. Personal VPN is the first proof of this model.
Business-owned services
Expand business-owned services such as VPN, Webmail, Community, Workforce, Payroll, Reports, Display, and infrastructure bundles with clear business billing ownership.
Invoice visibility
Improve business billing dashboards so owners can see which realm, service, seat, device, or entitlement they are paying for and why.
Workforce, PaperTrail & Payroll
Workforce bridge
Continue connecting Identity, Workforce, and PaperTrail so workers move through relationship creation, operational readiness, timesheets, approvals, and payroll eligibility without manual guessing.
PaperTrail onboarding
Strengthen document review, W-4, I-9, W-9, missing paperwork, approval states, resubmissions, and onboarding completion before workers become payroll-ready.
Payroll tax, stubs & exports
Payroll has a working run direction using approved employees, pay settings, time entries, payroll runs, and run items. Next steps are tax calculations, pay stubs, finalization locks, CSV exports, and ACH-ready output.
Payroll readiness AI
Improve AI answers for payroll blockers: missing paperwork, inactive employees, missing pay settings, incomplete onboarding, and records not ready for payroll execution.
Manager approvals
Add clearer approval workflows for timesheets, worker status, onboarding review, payroll readiness, and business-scoped manager authority.
Worker self-service
Build worker-facing flows for onboarding, document completion, profile review, pay history access, and status visibility.
Store operations & inventory
POS integration
Deepen integration with existing POS systems, including Axis and other register platforms, so receipts, inventory, lottery, vendors, and reports line up with what happened at the register.
ScanFlow expansion
Continue improving UPC scanning, barcode records, vendor delivery checks, product verification, store-level inventory snapshots, and shrink visibility.
Warehouse & transfers
Build stronger tools for moving product between locations while keeping costs, counts, receiving, shrink, and internal transfers transparent.
Lottery reconciliation
Improve lottery pack tracking, ticket activation, returns, employee handling, discrepancies, weekly invoice checks, and audit-supporting reconciliation.
Vendor & rebate insights
Support vendor contracts, rebates, credits, and incentives so a business can compare what was promised, what was delivered, and what was actually paid.
Reports & analytics
Expand reports for sales, inventory, payroll, workforce, lottery, billing, community, and compliance across business-scoped operational data.
Community, communication & public systems
Community platform
Continue expanding the Community System with announcements, sponsors, media galleries, public pages, admin dashboards, slug routing, and multi-community infrastructure.
Events & RSVP
Add events, RSVP, calendar views, volunteer signup, member areas, donation direction, flyer uploads, and public community workflows.
OhioMail & communication
Expand OhioMail and Webmail into stronger platform communication for business inboxes, notices, invitations, onboarding messages, receipts, alerts, and internal records.
System Chat
Continue developing business-scoped system chat for operational support, assistant interaction, internal notes, and cross-realm communication.
Contact & support flows
Standardize contact forms, sender confirmation emails, support routing, branded transactional messages, and public-to-platform communication.
Display & public notices
Continue turning Display into a signage and public communication layer for stores, communities, announcements, and operational screens.
Compliance, agency & records
Compliance helpers
Generate and organize the data needed for filings, licenses, inspections, payroll records, tax support, and agency requests instead of hunting across multiple systems.
Agency access
Build controlled access for external agents, vendors, advisors, or agencies to communicate, review cases, exchange documents, and interact without exposing the full business environment.
Records and filing
Expand record organization for business documents, public files, internal records, compliance evidence, renewals, and audit support.
LedgerLite and accounts
Continue building lightweight financial organization tools for owners who need operational clarity without heavy accounting complexity.
QR system
Expand QR-based routing for labels, forms, public links, operational shortcuts, asset references, and physical-world actions.
Policy standardization
Document platform rules for identity, memberships, onboarding, billing, AI, audit, document handling, and operational access.
Infrastructure & hosted services
HostGen
Continue turning HostGen into a safer infrastructure operations generator for mailbox, hosting, domain, and server workflows.
Hosted services
Expand hosted OhioMade services backed by Identity, billing, audit, entitlements, shared mail, and shared UI infrastructure.
Platform hardening
Continue reducing duplicated code, replacing one-off styles, tightening access checks, improving CSRF patterns, and centralizing shared helpers.
